Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella pays 'courtesy visit' to India PM, discusses Digital India initiative

Satya Nadella

Microsoft's Satya Nadella made his second visit to India visiting with key leaders to discuss future investment in that country. Nadella met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, promising support for Modi's Digital India initiative to modernize that country's infrastructure.
No announcements of investments or projects were made, making this trip more of a 'courtesy visit' according to Nadella rather than anything substantive.
India is pursuing a policy to modernize India in the digital age with the intent to "bridge the gap between haves and have-nots". Microsoft's role in that project is non-specific at this point, however, the software giant is reportedly keen on working with countries and governments to improve and increase their digital infrastructure. Between Azure and various networking technologies, Microsoft could play a fundamental role in upgrading India's internet and improving so-called 'digital literacy'. Additionally, data security and domestic electronic manufacturing were apparently discussed, although details are lacking.
This trip is the second visit to India by Nadella. Nadella's previous jaunt was back in September when he stopped by the India Development Centre (IDC) in Hyderabad. As with today's visit, there were no official specifics of that trip either.

Here's a list of even more phones and countries that got the Lumia Denim update

Lumia 735 Denim

Last week, Microsoft started rolling out the long awaited Lumia Denim update to its Lumia Windows Phone devices in various territories around the world. At the time, we listed the countries, devices and wireless carriers that were rolling out that update in EuropeAsiaLatin AmericaAfrica and the Middle East. We also mentioned that the Demin update had started to roll out to the Verizon Wireless Lumia 822 and 928 in the US.
It's been several days since that first firmware rollout so we decided to check Microsoft's support pages to see if there were any additional countries, phones and carriers that were receiving the Lumia Denim update. Sure enough, there have been some changes to that list so we have combed through it and posted all the new Denim listings.
Keep in mind it will continue to roll out to even more devices and territories around the world in the coming weeks. With that said, here's a list of new Denim rollouts since we first reported on them last week.

Zubie

By George Ponder

The other day we mentioned that Zubie had released their mobile app to the Windows Phone Store. What is Zubie you ask? Zubie is a plug-in module for your vehicle that will locate your vehicle, log its movements, and monitor critical engine components.
The module will transmit all this information to your Zubie account where you can check in on things through a website portal or the Zubie Windows Phone app. The app is free, but the module runs about $100 and comes with a year's service. The service sparked our curiosity and after using Zubie for the past week, it comes across as a useful tool for those looking to monitor their vehicles closer.
-Quick note: Zubie is currently only available in the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. The module is currently only compatible with cars with data ports, which are cars manufactured after 1996.
